Since 2020, the Hapo BACK exoskeleton has come a long way, both in the number of units produced (used by thousands of workers), in distance (sold worldwide), and in technology.
This year, the Hapo BACK is getting a little makeover to better address field issues. On the surface, nothing changes. The exoskeleton retains its features that have made it strong: lightness, comfort, efficiency, and discretion. Only users accustomed to working with the Hapo BACK will notice the difference in the new version.
In detail, the Hapo BACK has seen its assistance power slightly reduced to satisfy a larger number of users.
Originally, the Hapo BACK was developed for handling tasks and carrying heavy loads, but experience has shown a gap between the help needed for other types of tasks (notably prolonged trunk bending) and the assistance provided by the exoskeleton. Ultimately, this adjustment of the spring power offers greater flexibility of use to adapt to a wider variety of work situations.
Since power and comfort go hand in hand, the development team has also revised the attachment of the Hapo BACK springs with the textile interfaces at the thighs and trunk. The goal here was to provide more flexibility by allowing movement (pivot joints) where mechanical elements were initially blocked (fixed connections). In practice, this evolution brings true comfort of use, resulting in a sensation of greater freedom of movement.
