It all began in 2020, faced with an alarming observation: MSDs (Musculoskeletal Disorders) represent the overwhelming majority (88%) of occupational diseases in France.
The Hapo team embarked on an ambitious project: to create an intuitive postural assessment application, usable without any particular technical expertise, and above all, free. A tool that would allow each company to quickly identify postures at risk of MSDs and act accordingly:
- Adapt the workstation: adjust the height of work surfaces to avoid bending or raising arms, position frequently used equipment within reach to limit twisting, adjust lighting to prevent awkward postures related to poor visibility, etc.
- Promote good practices: learn to keep the back straight during handling, favor full body rotation rather than trunk twisting, etc.;
- Explore more innovative solutions like the passive exoskeleton to preserve workers' health and prevent the onset of MSDs.
From this reflection was born Hapo LEA, a postural assessment application developed and hosted in France, at our place in Anduze, in the Gard (30). At Hapo, we like to sum up its purpose with two adages:
“Prevention is better than cure”, because Hapo LEA promotes prevention by making postural assessment accessible to everyone;
“You can only manage what you measure”, because Hapo LEA transforms the observation of postures into precise, objective, and usable data (positions, angles, durations, RULA score 1, etc.).
